Oh my goodness, it's going to be hot here this week. We may have 2 or 3 days above 100 degrees, and let me tell you here in Western Oregon that leaves everyone a little shell-shocked. People either huddle in their houses, hang out at a lake or spend a lot of time in air-conditioned stores and movies. And everyone's conversation starts with the weather, typically "Is it hot enough for ya?" Since we don't get many of these hot days, a lot of people don't have air conditioning so it can be trying.
Luckily, we do, but I still don't like to turn the oven on in the afternoons. The hottest part of the day here is around dinner, and I don't want to make the heat pump work harder. SO, it's a week of salads, and some grilled things, though it might be too hot to grill so that might change. I'll make bread and things that need the oven in the mornings when it's cooler.
Monday- Hot & Sweet Drumsticks, Chopped Ceasar Slaw (new recipe I'll try and put up later if it's worthy), Bread
Tuesday- BLT's, veggies and dip, chips
Wednesday- Asian Green Bean and Noodle Salad, grilled round steak with teriyaki sauce
Thursday- Grilled Chicken sandwich, Grilled Potato Slices w/salt and vinegar, tomato salad (yea! we've got enough tomatoes to do a salad!)
Friday- Shrimp, zucchini, and onion kabobs, rice, chopped salad
Saturday- Pizza (I'm thinking of grilling it for the first time!)
Sunday- Chef's salads

We're expecting the same on the other side of the mountain, and sadly, we're only going to drop into the mid50s at night. Ugh.

I recently had grilled potato slices for the first time...they were surprisingly delicious! :)
