I finished the sewing projects that have been taking most of my time during the past two weeks, so I am happy to have time this week to devote to gardening and home projects. I’m finally going to finish painting the chairs that have been in our garage for more than six months- hurray!
And I’ve got a few other things up my sleeves that I plan to share with you all as well.
In the meantime, we don’t have kids living with us again this week, but we’ve got company! It gets pretty boring eating with just the two of us night after night, ya’ know? *smile*
Monday- Dinner out with friends! Dessert back at our house- Brownies a la Mode, drizzled with Homemade Chocolate Syrup
Tuesday- Grilled hot dogs (uncured ones from the store- have you seen Oscar Meyer is selling uncured hot dogs? Cool!), Quick and Tender hot dog buns, baby garden carrots & ranch dip, chips and salsa
Wednesday- Teriyaki Shrimp & Chicken kabobs, Spicy Asian rice noodle salad, Asian slaw
Thursday- Grilled Chicken (rubbed with Basic All-Purpose Spice and brushed with Rhubarb BBQ Sauce), Grilled peppers and onions (we use one of those grill pans- yum!), Herbed steamed potatoes, garden salad
Friday- Spaghetti with chicken sausage and Roasted Tomato Sauce, garden salad, and a dessert to welcome the kids home: chocolate chip cookie a la mode? I guess I’m in an a la mode mood- it is summer after all (or at least I pretend it is here in the Northwest- the only place that is below normal in temperatures *smile*).
Saturday- Homemade pizza (might try grilling it for the first time…I keep reading how people are loving it!)
Sunday- Leftovers

I believe a cottage can be anywhere or anything (condo, ranch, farmhouse) as long as you have a "cottage mentality" which puts people above things, celebrates imperfections, embraces simplicity, and finds joy in everyday life. Thanks for joining me!
