Highlights and The Tuesday Garden Party

sun flowers

Welcome to another edition of The Tuesday Garden Party! The season is winding down for many TGP-ers and our group is smaller than at the height of the season, but I still enjoy looking at the great variety of links that we have – everything from the beautiful sunflowers pictured above (courtesy of Betty from My Cozy Corner!) to preserving and garden updates.

By the way, we will be wrapping things up at the end of the month – look for a special Tuesday Garden Party on September 25th where you can choose to link up a current post or pick your favorite from the season to share. There’ll also be a giveaway for all the TGP folks, so be thinking about what you’ll link up for our last party!

Here are a few other posts from last week that I wanted to highlight:

Seattle harvest

Candice at Adventure Food Love shared a harvest from her Seattle area garden and highlighted a couple of varieties of vegetables that have done well for her this year. I love learning about plants that do well for others – it gives me something to add to my list for the next year!

Opening Sweet Corn

Foy Update shared a couple of preserving links, but her corn link not only listed a couple of different ways to put up corn but also showcased a little corn-cutting trick that is awesome! I’ve done this in the past and it really does help contain the mess.

canning beans-and-veg

I loved the use-what-you-have mentality of Lisa at Homestead on the Hill: she didn’t have as much as she wanted from her garden, but she canned what vegetables she did have – even combining vegetables to use everything. These precious jars are gonna taste great in the dead of winter!

I’d love to see what you all are making with the rest of the harvest – or how you’re decorating for the fall with garden items!

Thanks for featuring my corn! We just got a chest freezer, so now, if I can find corn I will freeze some more!

I’m sharing how I juice grapes for jelly making and then the side by side comparison of Low Sugar Pectin vs. the Traditional Pectin I did with that grape juice.

    Thanks for hosting!

We also host a blog hop called Eat Make Grow and are always looking for quality bloggers to submit their links.
