Hello friends! I have a new plant I’ve been wanting to share with you that I’m loving this season – a Little Lime Hydrangea, which is a dwarf version of Limelight Hydrangea.
I purchased this back in May (using a gift certificate my sweet friend gave me for my birthday – yeah!) to use in our small half-circle bed around the new gravel patio in the back yard. So I can see this from inside the house as well as when we’re eating outdoors.

I find I’m enjoying every stage of this plant’s development. The blossoms start out as, well, a lime green.
OK, it’s named well.

As it matures, the blossoms start to take on a pink hue, which will continue to darken over time from what I’ve seen in pictures. I’m really looking forward to seeing what the final blossom will look like – and bringing them in to dry and enjoy during the winter months.
This little bush sits in the same bed as a Pee Gee Hydrangea that’s been trained into a tree (you can just see it at the top of the first photo). It’s blossoms are white, but it also turns pink-green-mauve by the end of the season. These two bushes are really complimenting each other in this bed.
Do you have a favorite plant that you can share with us?

I believe a cottage can be anywhere or anything (condo, ranch, farmhouse) as long as you have a "cottage mentality" which puts people above things, celebrates imperfections, embraces simplicity, and finds joy in everyday life. Thanks for joining me!

Jami – Looks like a real beauty – This is the time of year that Hydrangeas really shine!
What a delicate looking bloom! Love learning new stuff! Thanks for hosting the garden party!
Thanks for hostessing this garden party. I love the color of your new hydrangea? I just wish I had more shade, because I would definitely have more.

You are so lucky, I have tryed to grow them but have never had any luck with them. Darn-it-all. I love them.
Gorgeous hydrangea! One of my favorite shrubs…I’m a bit particular to the oak leaf type myself
PS…they don’t necessarily need a lot of shade, it depends on the variety and how hot it is in your area. I have had the oak leaf and pee gee types out in full sun with very good luck. You just need to be sure to water them
Hi Jamie, I love your hydrangea! They are so pretty.
I linked up a post about getting ready to build our passive house out at our homestead. We are finally building this fall!! I can’t wait to get out to our barn and my gardens. Thanks for hosting and have a great week!
I have the regular sized one and I LOVE it. It’s in my top five favorite plants in my yard. So pretty.
Hi Jami: Wow–what a beautiful hydrangea you have! I love that it is a smaller one–that would make it easier to fit into a variety of garden areas. Thank you so much for hosting the party today! I have been reading your weight loss section–very inspirational for me.
So glad you’re finding it helpful, Athena!
The summer harvest is peaking and so is food preservation. I’m sharing my recipe for canned tomato sauce and pizza sauce as well as a trick to cutting corn off the cob without making a mess.
Thanks for hosting!

My submission this week is #25, but I didn’t post the title correctly
. Anyway, it’s an account of our trip to a pick-your-own farm to gather green tomatoes. Hubby’s favourite is a recipe for French-Canadian Green Tomato Ketchup (sort of like Chow Chow). Thank you for the opportunity to share, and enjoy your week!
