The First Garden Party!

Welcome! I’m so glad you’re joining me for this first Tuesday Garden Party. As I wrote in the announcement, I envision this as a place to be able to peek into other’s gardens and find inspiration and information each week.
So if you’re a blogger please link up and show us what you’re up to, and if you’re a reader, let us know in the comments what your garden is like and what you did this last weekend.
What did I accomplish this weekend?
I planted all the tomatoes and covered them in floating row cover cloth to make my crazy tomato covers.
I transplanted chard and seeded spinach, lettuce, carrots, and beets. Even though I’m a month late (thanks to our vole problem), I went ahead and planted a small row of a variety of peas that is supposed to not be bothered as much be the heat. We’ll see.
I also moved around some plants in my flower borders and got rid of some dead ones. I lost a number of pretty major plants due to our unusual week in December with lows of 11 degrees. Darn, that means I need to buy more plants. :-)

  1. Thanks for hosting this Jami! I hope it’s successful :)

  2. I don’t have any blog posts on the garden yet (Denver). I’ve planted lettuce, spinach and carrot seeds, and I’m hardening off some lettuce, spinach, and onion seedlings to transplant. This is my first time to try seeds, and I’m not too hopeful. Most of the ones I have inside are really really small, so I may end up buying seedlings.

  3. No garden blogs to post of my own yet, but as soon as I start planting, I’ll come by and share. For now, I’m loving being able to look at what others are growing. Thanks for hosting this. :)

  4. I love garden parties of all types and think yours is a great idea. Are you going to do this every week?

  5. Thanks, Candi!
Lauren- I’ve been surprised at the success of seedlings- no thinning and you can place them exactly where you want- so I hope your experiment goes well!
April- Thanks for stopping by- I hope you do link up when you have something to share!
Pam- Yes, each week, so be sure to check back!
