Oh my goodness, did I have some fun checking out all the garden link-ups from last week! Not only did I see all the progress on your veggie gardens, I got to ooh and aah over the gorgeous flowers blooming in other parts of the country (that are just budding here…hello, peonys?) and I learned about things I hadn’t even heard of before (making your own fermented soda? Get out!).
This is an awesome place to be on Tuesdays and I thank all of you who post links on FB, tweet or blog about the Tuesday Garden Party so we can have even more gardens to visit and be inspired by!
Here are just four of the links from last week that I thought would be fun to share (oh, the decision was tough, though…):
I loved how Charlie and Jo from Let’s Face The Music titled their post about the tomato cages and bamboo structures they use in their raised bed garden “The Support Team.” Very true, and not only do they work, they make this pretty garden even prettier.
I just wish our two bird houses would be filled will families and babies, while Lady Farmer’s Garden has many more that are – including this four-house “condo” pictured with the birds in it! One day…
Over at Cranky Puppy Farm, they’ve problem-solved in a creative way. Last year their vining veggies were a bit out of control, so this year they’re growing some on a trellis – made easy by bending a large metal fencing panel into an arch. Won’t this look great covered with cukes and squash in a few weeks?
Finally, I was totally inspired by the shady beds around Karen’s house at Away For The Weekend. This shady driveway bed pictured was just a tangle of weeds a few years ago, but working with her neighbor, it is now a beautiful spot that doesn’t even need to be weeded like before. Great job, Karen!
So…what does this last week of May look like in your gardens?
