MPM button-Spring

I’m honored to share with you that An Oregon Cottage is being featured this week over at BlogHer Food!

For those visiting from BlogHer, Mondays are always the day I share our menu- plus whatever else I feel like talking about {wink}. Today I thought I’d highlight a couple of our most popular food posts (which may be a fun reminder for our regular readers, as after three years blogging the archives are a bit large…uh-hem).

In the Popular Posts section of the sidebar, food related items are featured in four of the five posts – Best Homemade Ranch dressing, Easy Artisan Bread (made in an enameled dutch oven!), Quick and Tender Breadsticks and our most popular post, caring for your cast iron pan – even though An Oregon Cottage features DIY projects, organic gardening, and frugal lifestyle posts as well.

So food is always a good portion of our content here at An Oregon Cottage- always with the mantra of simple, frugal, and from scratch! Here are a few more food posts that our readers love:

Homemade Apple Caramel Dip

Easy Homemade Chocolate Syrup
(One of our “Pantry Basics” recipes – find more here)

Classic Homemade Caesar Salad Dressing

How To Roast and Freeze Beets – and win over any beet-haters you may know!
(and then use in one of my favorite salads, Roasted Beet Salad with Goat Cheese)

Now on to this week’s menu!

Monday- Ham Bone Soup, Easy Artisan Bread, slaw or vegetable plate

Tuesday- Slow Cooker Cassoulet, Parmesan toasts (made with leftover artisan bread), Roasted Asparagus Salad (using the first asparagus harvest!)

Wednesday- Curried Egg Salad sandwiches, chips, cut vegetables (track meet)

Thursday- Baked & breaded chicken tenders (aka, nuggets), roasted potatoes, green salad

Friday- Salmon cakes, peanut noodles with broccoli (I’ll just toss the ingredients with some Homemade Spicy Peanut Sauce), Spicy Asian Slaw

Saturday- Hamburgers using homemade buns, oven fries, cut vegetables with Ranch Dip

Sunday- Ham Dinner: Baked Ham, slow cooker scalloped potatoes (I’ll take pictures to post recipe- thought I’d already had it up!), Mustard Sauce for ham (our family’s favorite recipe coming!), roasted asparagus, green salad
