Well, here it is- the last week before the big holiday! Are you ready? Are you excited and can’t wait, or are you just wishin’ it to be over, already?
I know there are people in both camps, but I hope and pray that you’re able to enjoy time with family and friends. In my book, that’s the second “reason for the season.”
We just had one of our big family celebrations this last weekend and we have a few more this week, plus our own family’s traditions on Christmas Day. But the kids are home from school, and I’m off from teaching as well, so I’m planning to spend some time doing some fun things while finishing up my “do-to” list. That would be why most of the days this week that we’re home are pretty simple, meal-wise.
You might wonder why a turkey dinner on the 22nd? We are at other’s houses on the 23rd and 24th, and our Christmas Day traditional dinner is Fish n’ Chips. So when to have our turkey dinner? I vacislated between the 22nd or 26th, and chose the 22nd simply because it’s before the holiday.
We’ll see how the week goes, though. Don’t be surprised if you see the dinner on the 26th in next week’s menu!
Monday- Dinner & movie out!
Tuesday- Spaghetti (using my frozen stash of Roasted Tomato Sauce, of course!), green salad
Wednesday- Soft tacos (one of my go-to quick and easy meals) with home-canned salsa
Thursday- Roast turkey, sausage dressing, roasted potatoes, Broccoli/Cauliflower Parmesan, salad
Friday- Family dinner (not sure what I’m bringing yet)
Saturday- Family dinner (bringing a salad- probably Carrot, Olive, & Feta Salad)
Sunday- MERRY CHRISTMAS! am- our traditional brunch; pm- Baked Fish n’ Chips, slaw, veggie plate
