Oh how real life gets in the way of our best laid plans! I have quite a few unfinished projects lying about as well so join the club. The sudden onslaught of sunny warm days here has completely rearranged my schedule but who can resist the grand outdoors calling?!

Your unfinished projects are nothin’ honey! A few weeks or months for some of your DIY projects? Only a year for the bench?! HA! I have a quilt that I started for a dear friend for her wedding 10 YEARS AGO!! Now, that’s an prolonged UFO! And I have many more stashed here and there. They are really hard to finish once they have been put ‘out of sight, out of mind’.
Love your thrifted bench! It is going to be a real beauty ~ nowever you cover it! And I love the two Duncan Phyffe chairs (I have a dining set just like these!) turned bench! How creative! I think you are amazing with all the stuff you do ~ canning, gardening, crafting! There is only so much time in the day and I don’t always have the energy or feel the creativity to get them all done!
Keep up the good work, Jami! Things half done are better than things not even started!
Looking forward to your finished projects, whenever they happen to get done!
    A kindred spirit!

Whew! You have no idea how nice it was to read your comment! :-)

Of course, I didn’t mention all the half-finished sewing projects I have, because they are “out of sight.” You’re so right about that. :-)

Lol! I’m so glad I’m not the only one with unfinished projects! I have all these grand thoughts when I’m at work and when I come home……laundry, vacuuming, etc….. always have to get in the way! ;)

We’re going on month 4 of a bathroom reno, and it looks a lot like it did at the end of month 1. We’ve decided to just be OK with that. We’ve done some other things in the middle of it, and I’ve got at least 3 things going on right now. It’s not the some are left unfinished, it’s that others have been started. There’s lots of reasons for that, but it’s not because we’re lazy or anything like that. We’ve just got short attention spans! It’ll all get done eventually. Doesn’t make for great blogging, but does make for better living, we think :-)

I have so many unfinished projects… the biggest one that I would like to see finished is my antique chair and settee. This Mother’s Day will be 2 years! My kids gifted this set to me WHICH THEY BOUGHT AT A FABULOUS PRICE…because it needs re-covering.

    2 YEARS!
I have others… I just do what I can when I can, like you cooking, gardening, and I tend my Grand kids and the chickens…
You do get so much completed. Don’t beat yourself up…because if all those task were completed–it would be something else. It’s how we live.

    take care now, Pat

Looks like I’m in great company here! I have so many unfinished projects I had the doctor check me for A.D.D. (I failed the test, don’t have it)

Both your beautifully finished projects, gardens, menu’s and the beautiful yet not so finished projects are all inspiring for me!

OK, you made me laugh out loud, Sakura! I’ve never thought to have a Dr. check me out. :-)

I wish I had a blog to share all of my “unfinished projects”! My problem is working on too many projects at one time and not finishing them. Reading your post got me to think about what I am not doing…finishing those projects!

Thanks for your honesty. I could do a post of my unfinished projects too! I have finally came to realize that I will always have more ideas than time!

And now you have given us much to look forward to…when you do finish some projects!

I have SO many unfinished projects! I’m trying to work my way through some of them! One that I was determined to get done was reupholstering an ottoman. The fabric was chosen & sewn to shape, the piping was covered, all that was left was stapling it all together, and there it sat. Last weekend I got out the staple gun and almost finished…and ran out of staples. So now it is more done, but still not finished! lol Check out what it started as here:

I looked at the list of projects that remained unfinished at the end of last year in hope of finally getting one of them finished. http://charlieandjo.wordpress.com/2011/12/20/7-things-that-just-didnt-happen-in-2011/ They’ve all been started and are in a state of suspended animation and I still cannot commit myself to any one of them. Soooo sad. Jo @ Let’s Face the Music
